I am a former committee member of the Teignmouth Art Society, a lively and interesting group of people with many varied talents.
In normal times, 3 exhibitions are held annually, and there is an excellent programme of Friday evening talks and demonstrations throughout the winter months. During the summer, outdoor sketching and painting days are held in some lovely local venues. Members can also attend Wednesday afternoon practical workshops during the winter. I am a member of Devon Artists Network who organise the annual Open Studios event every September.
2019 was my fifth year of participation in Open Studios, this time at Rew Mill, Ashburton - I shared my husband's woodturning workshop and we enjoyed our artistic collaboration, which visitors seemed to feel worked very well.
